The Spanish Mining Council

The Spanish Mining Council has cordially elected to host the Slope Stability 2018 symposium as a core component of the International Congress for Energy and Mineral Resources. The event will be organised locally in the Andalusian capital of Seville by the council´s regional Mining College “El Colegio de Ingenieros de Minas del Sur” at the Barceló Conference Centre located in the heart of this magnificent cultural city.

The Symposium

A number of years have passed since the publishing of “Guidelines to Open Pit Slope Design”. This symposium now aims to consolidate the knowledge gained over the years and show how techniques have improved over the last decades providing real and evidenced results. It also aims to provide direction for further improvements in the future.

Overall this three day Symposium will bring together mining, civils, geotechnical, geological, hydrogeological and geophysical engineers to explore new techniques with the aim of improving open mine stability.

The proceeds from the previous Slope Stability event in 2013 can be found at the following site:http://acg.uwa.edu.au/shop/ss2013/

Attendance of the Symposium will also provide access to the International Congress.
